Money Moves Teaser
Mike O’Dea, largely known by his stage name Alona, is a NY based rapper/creative. Born in Long Island on November 16, 2000, Alona continues to grow and experience life, and now finds himself at the height of his creative peak…
From making songs and demos off his HP laptop and iPhone microphone app when he was just fourteen, and then picking his passion for music back up around late 2019-early 2020, Alona’s love and desire to express himself has always been there. Now, he has been delivering music consistently and has dropped off popular singles like “Hotel Room”, “On Me”, “Lonely Hours”, “Money Moves”, and “Mind Race”, along with heralded projects “Hell N Back” and “Phases”, which both include soothing tracks with DGS collaborators Silk Daddy and Jack DeNicola (titled “Growing Pains” and “Not Coming Home”). Alona’s discography is only expanding, and the authenticity in his music explores a plethora of different emotions. Songs like “Hotel Room” and his upcoming release “Relapse” focus on feelings of love and infatuation, while ballads such as “Another Day”, “Lonely Hours” , and “Mind Race” depict the reality of battling with yourself and one’s mind, while offering more of an introspective feel. On more upbeat tracks like “On Me”, “Slow Me Down”, “Money Moves”, and “Keep It Going (feat. Silk Daddy)”, Alona also showcases his high confidence in the booth and proves his ability to make party anthems as well. He draws inspiration from studying hip hop, both new and old, and you can expect quality lyricism and catchy flows throughout his sounds. Some of his favorite artists include Mac Miller, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Earl Sweatshirt, MF DOOM, Joey Badass, A Tribe Called Quest, Childish Gambino, and Lucki. Most importantly though, He credits the people around him for his inspiration as well. “My brothers at DGS always push me to push myself, and that’s what’s important. When you know you got ideas to offer and stuff that you want to do, stuff that your heart is really in, you can’t hold back on that stuff, and I feel like surrounding yourself with the right people who will allow you to do that is crucial for anyone”. Alona’s journey is only just beginning, so be on the lookout for more surprises to end this year and beyond, you won’t be disappointed…
